Using a mix of highly engaging interactive exhibits, including examples of a full size burnt fire door, glass, structural steel and service pipes, together with time-lapse video demonstrations on its stand C175, the team will encourage visitors to get hands on with their learning.
Technical experts will offer guided tours of its 80m² passive fire protection demonstration zone, commencing with a full-scale corridor and suspended ceiling simulation. The corridor will demonstrate best practice specification and installation of passive fire protection measures including fire doors, service pipes, cables, light switches and downlighters.
Meanwhile, Ross Newman, Principal Technical Officer at Exova Warringtonfire, will be a part of the panel discussing the Fire Safety Order 10 years on, examining what’s been learnt since its introduction, and whether it’s still fit for purpose. The seminar is the first of the exhibition and is scheduled for 10.45 am on June 21st in the Expertise and Guidance theatre. Ross will be joined by Nicholas Coombe from the London Fire Brigade and Colin Todd from C.S. Todd Associates.
On Tuesday afternoon at 15.10 and again on Wednesday afternoon at 12.40, Mark Cummings will host a 30 minute seminar which will demonstrate in dramatic style the difference in performance between correctly and incorrectly specified and installed fire doors, glazing and fire stopping for pipe and cable penetrations. Mark is the commercial head of Exova Warringtonfire’s fire testing team and has over 15 years’ experience of fire testing products, as well as representing the organisation on technical committees and trade associations.
In addition to the fire safety displays and demonstrations, experts from Exova BM TRADA and Warrington Certification, will also be on hand to explain the important role that third party certification plays in ensuring passive fire protection products perform as intended.
Details on its Certifire, FIRAS, FRACS and Q-Mark third party certification schemes for fire door manufacture, installation, inspection and maintenance will be available, as will those for the installation of fire-stopping elements and fire risk assessors.
